From 27 to 30 November, garagErasmus took part in Job&Orienta in Verona, the biggest Italian fair dedicated to orientation, training, and employment.
During the fair, gE took the chance to organise an activity to engage with students and staff coming from VET schools in the framework of the P.Ir.A.M.iD. project, which aims to improve the intercultural skills of VET students, teachers, and companies working within the tourism sector. The project is based on the three dimensions proposed by Lewis' Model to differentiate cultures: Multiactive, Active-Linear, and Reactive. Students and teachers who participated in the activity had the chance to discover which culture they most identify as. Unsurprisingly, most identified with the Multiactive dimension, typical in Italy.
This activity was designed to support the implementation of a personality test in the framework of the project which will help VET students, teachers, and tourism companies understand which cultural dimension is more prevalent in their culture and how to approach people from different backgrounds.
This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.
