PIRAMID at the Festival d’Europa in Florence

14 May 2025

From May 8th to 10th, 2025, our partner garagErasmus had a stand at the Festival d’Europa in the heart of Florence—a major event dedicated to celebrating European citizenship, cultural diversity, and lifelong learning under the Erasmus+ programme.

As part of the festival programme hosted in Piazza della Repubblica, the event featured workshops, live performances, round tables, and artistic moments designed to engage people of all ages with the many opportunities Erasmus+ offers. Among the highlights were the celebrations of the 10 years of EPALE, 20 years of eTwinning, and interactive activities like “Pensieri Erasmus, l’Europa che vorrei” where visitors could write messages and hopes for the future of Europe.

On Saturday, May 10th, PIRAMID partner garagErasmus animated the festival with the “Play with Europe” stand and game corner. Through games, quizzes, and creative activities, we sparked curiosity and conversations about mobility, study, and training abroad. The stand created an open space where we met dozens of young people, families, and educators, including VET (Vocational Education and Training) students, who discovered how Erasmus+ could open doors to new learning and professional experiences.

Across the three festival days, we estimate that over 150 people stopped by to learn more about our project, share their stories, and reflect on what Europe and mobility mean for them. These direct exchanges remind us why Erasmus+ is so powerful: it isn’t just about travelling, but about connecting people, ideas, and dreams across borders.

Through our participation in the Festival d’Europa, PIRAMID reaffirmed its commitment to making mobility opportunities more visible and accessible, especially to young people and students in vocational pathways. We left Florence inspired by the energy of so many students, teachers, and citizens eager to build a more open and inclusive Europe.
