P.IR.A.M.iD. (Path for Intercultural Awareness, Measurement and Development) aims to structure the intercultural competencies of VET students and teachers in the tourism sector, together with tourism companies, through training activities and transnational mobilities.

The aim is to raise awareness and provide useful and applicable tools and methods for defining and assessing these competences. The project’s objectives are to strengthen the internationalisation process of schools and companies, raise awareness of the importance of intercultural competences and share methods/tools for better management of multicultural environments.

Objectives

P.IR.A.M.iD. objectives are to:

  • promote integration, inclusion and well-being in intercultural contexts;
  • encourage and activate intercultural dialogue and intercultural skills;
  • improve intercultural, linguistic, social skills through project activities;
  • experiment innovative methodologies and tools that favor the acquisition of these skills and the improvement of teaching and training practices;
  • increase and improve the recognition and practice of intercultural competences in teachers, in order to replicate processes and tools in their schools;
  • allow the tourism companies involved to disseminate the results of the project internally and to promote with awareness and conviction externally, to customers and suppliers intercultural skills;
  • strengthen cooperation between target groups and partners from different countries;
  • strengthen the European dimension in order to become responsible future European citizens.

Results

P.IR.A.M.iD. results are the:

1. Delivery of a survey to define the realisation of the model;

2. Development of the Intercultural index (validated test);

3. Development of the P.Ir.A.M.iD training course for:

- students by students

- VET teachers

- host companies tutors

4. Realisation of training mobility for Vet students and VET teachers.
